*SOLD* George Davidson & Co. Art Deco Green Pressed Glass Vase
A striking vintage green pressed glass vase produced by the renowned British glass manufacturer George Davidson & Co. during the 1930s Art Deco period.
Formed in richly coloured green glass, the vase features the iconic “Chevron” or “Zig Zag” geometric moulded design, characterised by bold repeating angular motifs and a stepped hexagonal base.
The clean architectural lines and rhythmic geometric patterning exemplify the influence of the Art Deco movement on British domestic glassware during the interwar years. Designed to be both decorative and functional, Davidson’s coloured pressed glass pieces were widely popular in middle-class homes and remain highly collectable today.
The vivid green coloration enhances the sculptural quality of the form, while the moulded relief catches light beautifully, making it an attractive display piece in both period and contemporary interiors. Light surface wear to the base is consistent with age and does not detract from its strong visual appeal.
A fine and well-preserved example of 1930s British pressed glass design, this vase represents the enduring appeal of George Davidson & Co.’s contribution to Art Deco decorative arts.
