Marks & Spencer White Embossed Rose Cream Jug
A vintage white glazed earthenware cream jug produced for Marks & Spencer in England during the late twentieth century.
Decorated with a finely moulded embossed rose on one side and textured foliage on the reverse, this elegant serving piece features a broad pouring spout, substantial smooth curved handle and a small pedestal foot.
Designed for serving cream, milk or sauces, it forms part of Marks & Spencer's popular white embossed tableware produced by British contract potteries during the 1980s and 1990s.
Although the original backstamp has worn away through use, the form, decoration and construction are characteristic of these British-made collections.
