Mid-Century Stylised Siamese Cat Ceramic Figurine

£25.00Price
Quantity

A charming mid-century ceramic Siamese cat figurine produced in England during the 1960s.

Elegantly modelled with an elongated neck, upright seated posture, and refined proportions, the figure is finished in a glossy cream glaze with contrasting dark brown points and delicately hand-painted blue-green eyes, embodying the fashionable modernist aesthetic of the period.

Stylised Siamese cats became one of the most recognisable decorative ceramic forms of post-war Britain and were produced by several English potteries, with examples commonly attributed to Trentham Art Ware. Their sleek form complemented the contemporary interiors of the era and they have remained enduring favourites among collectors of retro ceramics and vintage animal figures.

The underside bears an incised letter "E", believed to be a factory worker's or decorator's identification mark rather than a maker's signature, a common practice within British pottery production during the period.

A well-preserved example of classic mid-century decorative pottery that displays beautifully either individually or alongside a matching companion figure.
