*SOLD* Price Kensington "Mr Celery" Double-Sided Face Jar

£35.00Price

A delightful vintage ceramic novelty storage jar produced by Price Kensington, England, during the 1960s.

Known affectionately by collectors as the "Mr Celery" jar, the piece is moulded with expressive twin faces on opposing sides, complete with pronounced eyebrows, moustache, ears, and a characterful nose. Finished in hand-painted shades of vibrant green over a white glazed body, the rim is boldly inscribed with the word "CELERY", identifying its intended kitchen use.

Produced during the golden age of British novelty kitchenware, this charming storage jar perfectly captures the playful spirit of mid-century domestic design. Combining sculptural form with practical function, it exemplifies the whimsical aesthetic that made Price Kensington one of England's most beloved pottery manufacturers.

Its bold hand-painted decoration and expressive modelling ensure that each example possesses its own individual character. Whether displayed in a vintage kitchen, country cottage, or contemporary eclectic interior, this unique piece brings warmth, humour, and nostalgic charm to a space while serving as an excellent conversation piece.

A wonderful example of collectible British kitchenalia that continues to appeal to both seasoned collectors and lovers of distinctive decorative ceramics.
