An original vintage SylvaC pottery pixie and mushroom vase or small jug, produced by Shaw & Copestake of Longton, Staffordshire, England.

This delightful woodland design features two climbing pixies supporting a large mushroom-shaped vessel, one of SylvaC's most recognisable and enduring decorative models. Finished in the attractive beige/caramel glaze, the piece captures the playful fairy-tale styling that made SylvaC pottery so popular throughout the mid-20th century.

The underside is impressed with the shape number 1196, Made in England, and Registered Design No. 809115, identifying it as an authentic period example of the design first registered in 1936. The combination of these impressed marks is consistent with production from the late 1930s through the early post-war period.

Presented in excellent original condition with one small tick bite chip on the rim, free from cracks or restoration, this is an increasingly desirable example for collectors of SylvaC, British art pottery, Staffordshire ceramics and woodland-themed decorative wares.

Condition Report: Very good vintage condition. No cracks or restoration. Shows a tiny flea-bite chip to the rim, consistent with age and light use, but the original glaze otherwise remains bright and well-preserved.
